Drop Biscuits

1 cup unbleached flour

1 cup whole wheat pastry flour

1 Tablespoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 Tablespoons light olive oil

1 egg

3/4 cup milk

Preheat oven to 450°. In a large mixing bowl combine flours, baking powder,
and salt. In another bowl, combine oil, egg, and milk. Fold wet mixture into
dry and drop by scant 1/4 cup fulls onto cookie sheet. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes
or until golden brown.

    Every time I make biscuits they are like hockey pucks – I have never attempted drop biscuits!

    I found that if you add a little sour cream to the biscuit dough, they come out really fluffy. And if you add honey to the dough and make a honey butter and baste the top of the biscuit with it they are sooooo yummy!
